Debjit's Testimony

"In my weakness, He is strong."

My Testimony

Many of us came here from different nations: the US, Europe, Asia, and many other places. But we are not here by accident. We are here because God placed us for a purpose. He sees the earth from above, and He wants light to shine in every place. If you are here for three years, ten years, or twenty years, then make every day count.

One day you will look back and ask: "Did I spend my life for what truly matters?" My prayer is simple: Lord, help me finish well. I honor faithful servants who spent years laboring for the Kingdom, and I pray the same grace for all of us.

From Religion to Relationship

I was born in a deeply religious Hindu family in India. I was strong in belief, committed to idol worship, and convinced there was no better way. My house was full of idols, and my life was full of habits that were destroying me. I was a chain smoker. I drank heavily. Weekends were for addiction, not purpose.

In 2003, I moved to Dubai with my family. Outwardly, life looked stable. Inwardly, I was empty. Then crisis struck. In 2009, recession hit and I lost my job. I found another one, but in 2010 that company also terminated me. The situation became severe: I was denied release, denied salary for six months, and trapped in legal and financial distress. I had a family, no peace, no money, and no way forward.

Brokenness Became the Turning Point

In that season, I ran everywhere for help. I went to people, systems, and even dark spiritual practices, but nothing changed. Every false door made me weaker. At my lowest point, through my wife and a friend, I was connected to a pastor. I had no interest in Christianity then, but step by step God led me into fellowship.

At first I felt uncomfortable and disconnected. I did not understand the prayers. But during worship one day, tears came. I felt a deep comfort I had never known. It was not emotion alone; it was the beginning of surrender. God had started His work in me.

The Scripture That Defined My Life

2 Corinthians 12:9-10: "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness... For when I am weak, then I am strong."

This was no longer a verse on paper. It became my lived reality. I was persecuted, pressured, and exhausted, yet in every valley I discovered a truth that cannot be shaken: only Christ can transform a human life from the inside out.

I am not sharing this because someone instructed me to repeat doctrine. I share it because I have seen it with my own life. No human power could have changed me. No system could have healed me. No religion could have rescued me from who I was becoming. Jesus met me where I was and began to rebuild me.

Freedom from Addiction

Even after coming to church, I was still struggling with smoking. I desired baptism, but my pastor told me clearly: "Leave smoking first." I knew I could not do it by willpower. One evening I knelt down and prayed: "Lord, if You do not do this in me, I cannot do it."

That prayer changed everything. God broke what I could not break. He did in a moment what I had failed to do for years. That is grace. That is why I can testify with conviction that God does not just forgive sin; He also gives power to walk free.

Works of God in My Life

Why Trials Still Come

Believers often ask: Why so many troubles? Why so much pressure? Why hardship even after prayer? The answer I learned is this: God is not finished with us. As long as there are battles, He is still shaping us.

Like a sculptor chisels stone to reveal beauty, God allows seasons that cut away pride, fear, addiction, and self-dependence. The process hurts, but the purpose is holy.

Work 1: Divine Rescue in Career Collapse

During job loss, salary denial, and legal pressure, God sustained my family and preserved our hope. What looked like destruction became the road that led me to Christ. He used crisis as mercy.

Work 2: Heart Transformation

I moved from rigid religious certainty to a living relationship with Jesus. My thinking changed, my desires changed, and my identity changed. This was not behavior management; this was new life.

Work 3: Deliverance from Addiction

Chain smoking had ruled me for years. In prayer and surrender, God broke that chain. I received baptism and began a new walk in obedience. Where I was weak, His power stood up in me.

Work 4: Calling to Fellowship and Service

In Jubail, by God's help, we started fellowship and the church continued to grow even through difficult times. God does not save us only for survival; He saves us for service.

Work 5: Miracle During Severe COVID

During COVID, my oxygen level collapsed to an extreme level and doctors considered my condition critical. I was hospitalized, weak, and at points barely conscious. In isolation I kept praying: "Lord, Your will be done." In that weakness, I sensed God speak: In your weakness, I am strong. He preserved my life. I should not have survived, but I did.

Work 6: Healing Through Ongoing Battles

Even after recovery, more health attacks came, including cardiac distress. Yet again, God carried me through. The message is not "I never suffer." The message is I am never abandoned.

What This Means for You

If you are in pain, delay, loss, or fear, do not conclude that God has rejected you. Your present struggle may be the workshop where God is forming your future testimony. John 9 teaches that some situations are allowed so that the works of God may be displayed.

Do not surrender to hopelessness. Do not hand your weakness to darkness. Bring your weakness to Jesus. He turns wounds into witness. He turns shame into strength. He turns survivors into servants.

Final Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are our refuge, our fortress, and our friend in need. Strengthen every person reading this testimony. Let those facing sickness receive courage. Let those in confusion receive clarity. Let those bound by habit receive freedom. Let every weakness become a place where Your glory is revealed. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Key to the Message

Weakness is not the end. In Christ, weakness becomes the place where grace is proven, character is formed, and purpose is released. When we are weak, He is strong.
